Caldicott is consistently one of our Top Performing Prep schools and its Head Jeremy Banks is successfully leading this very traditional all boys Prep into the 21^st Century, whilst still retaining the essence of a leading Boys’ prep. Nearly all the boys move on to Harrow and Eton other top Public schools, so not a school for the academically unambitious.

That said, sport plays a big part, especially cricket and rugby and everyone is expected to take part. Music and the performing arts are also growing as areas of excellence, with the Music department delivering over 200 peripatetic lessons a week.

There is roughly a 50/50 split of boarders to day pupils and roughly 70 boys receive SEN support; primarily Dyslexia. 10 children have EAL only 5 receive additional help with language. Boys are streamed for English and Maths from Yr 5 and scholarship/ G&T boys are identified in Yr 7.

What you do need to be aware of though is that all boys in Yr 7 & 8 board as part of their preparation for life at secondary school….which might be a matter for you to consider.
