What is Kent College Pembury like?

Kent College is located in South-East England on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside. Nursery, Prep, Senior and Sixth are surrounded by seventy five acres of woodland and share an abundance of first class facilities. Modern and purpose built, they include a Science block, Art Centre, Sixth Form Centre, Theatre, Music Centre, first class sport facilities and two boarding houses. It is a beautiful setting in which to learn and a safe space to explore and grow.

Life at Kent College is rich and diverse allowing each student to find their own interests inside and outside the classroom. International students make up one fifth of the Senior School so they are able to become immersed in British life and make friends with local day pupils. Weekend activities allow them to have fun whilst exploring our beautiful local area and learning about British culture.

To create a balanced and well-rounded experience there are an impressive range of clubs and activities in all areas of the curriculum. Students can join bands, choirs, technical theatre, art, photography, politics and sign language clubs. There are sports clubs, STEM clubs including 3D design and robotics, Model United Nations, philosophy and ancient language clubs.

From Prep to Sixth Form, pupils compete in team and individual sports including netball, hockey, cricket, tennis, swimming, athletics and cross country. There is also an equestrian team and a gymnastics squad.

Pupils can chose to attend team trials for squad selection and join weekday and Saturday matches and training sessions. Additional training takes place early morning, in PE and the weekly Sport and Wellbeing lessons.

Confidence in creativity, rigour and discipline in practice, and a comfort with risks, mistakes and experimentation comes from the school’s creative and performing arts broad offer. An offer that is taught by actual practitioners – trained dancers, published authors, opera singers, musicians, costume designers, artists, photographers and graphic designers.

The Sixth Form work hard and achieve impressive results. This year 85% of students will go to their first choice university to study a wide range of subjects including Law, Veterinary Medicine, Natural Sciences, Geography, Criminology, Fashion Textiles, International Relations and Creative Media.
