Godolphin - Salisbury

Milford Hill, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP1 2RA, United Kingdom

What is Godolphin like?

Godolphin is one of the oldest girls’ boarding schools in the country, founded in 1726 by Elizabeth Godolphin to promote the education of women. The school has maintained its pioneering spirit and seeks to provide a broad and exciting curriculum to enable girls to thrive in whatever discipline they choose. The 6th form curriculum is supplemented by the ‘Elizabeth Godolphin Award‘, which is a programme of self-development running alongside A-Levels and covering areas such as digital literacy, car maintenance, communication skills and managing finances.

Godolphin is situated on the outskirts of the cathedral city of Salisbury and occupies a deceptively spacious site with excellent facilities, particularly for Art and the Performing Arts. Sixth formers have their own boarding house and study block. There is a fitness centre with indoor pool and plenty of outdoor pitches for lacrosse, netball and hockey. Unusually for a girls’ school, CCF is also very popular.

Would Godolphin School be suitable for my child?

Godolphin is a school that achieves a successful balance of academics with strong pastoral care and fantastic extra-curricular opportunities. Although only around 55% of students board there is little distinction between day girls and boarders and the school is an attractive option for any girl looking for an excellent all-round boarding experience.

How can I apply to Godolphin School?
