Top boarding school to introduce emergency meditation to calm children during class

One of the country’s leading boarding schools is to introduce meditation sessions in an attempt to calm unsettled and fidgety children during lessons. The initiative is part of a raft of “creative learning” techniques to be introduced at Brighton College following a round-the-world fact finding mission led by its headmaster Richard Cairns.

From September, all teachers in the school will be supplied with an “emergency” meditation kit in order to quell boisterous youngsters during class. The kit will consist of videos, audio recordings and background information on how to conduct three-minute meditation sessions during lessons.
